However, I would strongly recommend that you opt for a Paid WordPress theme if you are going to be fully committed in building up a website for the long haul, be it a blogging website, a niche affiliate website, a corporate website or a e-commerce website.

Everybody likes free things. There are however many reasons why I would recommend going with a paid theme right away:
- A premium WordPress theme usually comes with technical support from the theme developer. You can always seek help if you face any issue with your website design.
- A premium WordPress theme is typically much better developed in terms of functionalities, feature sets and security. They look beautiful as well.
- A paid theme may not be that expensive anyway.

I think it pays to spend some time to carefully choose which theme best suits your website requirements. With a good theme, you will not get into the hassle of having to deal with customizations with additional CSS codes or to edit some source codes.

As most web traffic is from mobile phones now, do ensure your theme chosen is mobile responsive and that it is optimized for SEO if organic traffic from keywords is important to your business.
