In starting an online business, we mentioned that deciding on the niche area you want to get into is often the very first step. Many people have difficulty during this first step. So how can you actually go about finding niche ideas for yourself?
What many internet marketers will suggest you doing is find something related to your interests, passions, hobbies or something you already possess lots of expert knowledge perhaps because of your job or profession. Still, some people are lost.

- browse magazines
- browse biggest eCommerce platforms
- refer to lists of successful niche sites
Magazines

Pick up magazines related to your interests, hobbies and passions. You may just find profitable narrower niche ideas.
Major Ecommerce Platforms

Lists of Successful Niche Sites
Another way is to look at samples of successful niche sites for ideas. Take a look at these:

Once you find something that you are keen to pursue, you need to explore if there are actually affiliate products that you can sell and monetize your website, unless you are solely going to rely on advertising revenue from say Google Adsense.
The other important consideration is keyword research if you are going to primarily rely on Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to drive traffic to your website. Then please also read up on low competition keywords and why page 1 ranking is important.
