So far I have been talking about organic search SEO but there is also local SEO that you should be concerned about.
What is local SEO?
The best way to explain is perhaps give you an example. Local SEO is really search with a geo-location in the keyword. So say I am staying in Bedok and I am looking for a tyre shop to get my worn out car tyres replaced. I would probably search for “tyre shop bedok”. You will see something like this:
You see the 3 listings just below the map, that’s really local SEO. There is a way to rank well for local SEO. Again, let’s look at some of the possible ranking factors.
With the above ranking factors, it provides you with a guide as to what you need to do to rank well, very much what we have done for How To Do SEO. You will also see whatever you have done for organic search SEO still applies.
There is a very good article on local SEO, you can refer to that article and learn all the steps.
One of the steps is of course to get your Google My Business account. What I want to further point out is that Google My Business has a post feature. So say Anspire Consulting offers local SEO as a service to our clients, I can create the following:
Isn’t this cool? I can choose to show exactly what my audience sees and generate even more leads, and this is free!
I think local SEO is something you can implement fairly easily though it is important to get those reviews, the citations if possible.
